Mahama swears in Sam George, Okudzeto Ablakwa, 15 other ministers

On February 7, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama swore in 17 new ministers to strengthen his administration. Among the appointees are Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Nartey George as Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, and Kwabena Mintah Akandoh as Minister for Health.

During the ceremony, President Mahama announced directives aimed at promoting fiscal responsibility within his government. He imposed a ban on non-essential travel and prohibited first-class flights for all appointees. He also emphasized the importance of adopting a modest lifestyle and prioritizing the welfare of Ghanaians.
