The announcement, conveyed through an official letter from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to the Vice-Chancellor, is part of activities lined up for the 41st National Farmers’ Day festivities.
In the Ministry’s view, the award acknowledges UG’s notable dedication to hands-on agricultural training, research, and innovation, all of which contribute to the nation’s agricultural transformation efforts.
“This outstanding recognition reflects the University’s exemplary commitment to advancing practical agricultural training, innovation, and research in support of Ghana’s agricultural transformation agenda,” the statement said.
The University has also received a formal invitation to attend this year’s National Farmers’ Day celebration, which will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025, in Ho in the Volta Region, where the award will be presented.
