NAIMOS Halts Galamsey Destruction on Cocoa Farms at Adanse Anomabo

The NAIMOS task force has conducted an intelligence led operation to flush out galamseyers who had invaded several cocoa plantations in the Adanse Anomabo village of the Bosome Freho District in the Ashanti Region.

The Taskforce which deployed following petitions by the cocoa farmers association, observed at an illegal mining site called Kakra site, that the galamseyers had caused massive devastation to the cocoa plantations, causing serious anger and despair among the farmers.

Though the galamseyers fled the illegal mining site upon approach of the Taskforce, their tools, equipments and other instruments left at the site were destroyed by the troops.

A total of six excavators seen at the illegal mining sites were immobilized to prevent their usage due to lack of Lowbed services. One pump action gun and seven cartridges, discovered at the site were also seized.

Additionally, several makeshift structures which served as hideouts for the galamseyers were completely demolished and set ablaze. Also, pipe hoses at the site were burnt completely.
