Five arraigned for NAIMOS impersonation granted bail by Kibi court

The Kibi Magistrate Court in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region, presided over by Her Worship Juliet Osei-Duedo, has granted bail to five persons arrested for allegedly impersonating officials of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS).
The suspects—Paul Agbenu, Moses Dablam, Christopher Amakor, Casmir Nunekpeku, and Wisdom Miwonuko—were arrested on January 2, 2026, at Potrease, near Kyebi, for allegedly presenting themselves as operatives of NAIMOS.
After pleading not guilty to four charges, including conspiracy to commit extortion, extortion, and falsely pretending to be public officers, the court admitted all five accused persons to bail.
As part of the bail conditions, each accused person is required to provide two sureties, one of whom must be a government salary worker earning between GH₵3,000 and GH₵4,000.
The court further directed that the sureties deposit their national identification cards with the court registry.
