Env’tal health officer in Jaman South complains about excessive disobedience of env’t law

Jaman, Feb.1,- Mr Isaac Boakye, an Environmental Health Officer at the Jaman South Municipality said that impediment to their work these days include excessive interference from politicians and disobedience to law.

He said that individuals who will obstruct them in the cause of their work to ensure proper sanitary conditions in Jaman south Municipality will face the law.

He further cautioned that, information service operators who are found of violating laws relating to their work Will be arraign before competent court of law.

He further advise food vendors to regularly go for check up at least every three months to enable them to identify any health related problems. He hinted that some of them will Wait for about six months or even will not go at all for check up.

He called on the Municipal Assembly representative and the government to augment their work by providing financial support to enable them Carry out their routine inspection.

Environmental health officers are responsible for monitoring and enforcing health and hygiene legislation. They also investigate Cleaniness and hygiene conditions in our various homes and business centers.
Previously, Environmental health officers populary known as “Nsamansaman’ were very active in their role of ensuring strict adherence to Cleaniness in our various homes and community but same cannot be said these days.
