EPA Engages Odugblase Okper Community on Royalty Disputes

The Eastern Regional Office of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has held a town hall meeting at Odugblase Okper in the Eastern Region to address ongoing disputes among landlords over royalty compensation.

The engagement, which took place on Thursday, December 11, 2025, formed part of the EPA’s mandate to promote environmental protection while ensuring social harmony within host communities. It was led by the Deputy Regional Director, Madam Priscilla Arhin.

The meeting provided a platform for affected landlords to openly share their concerns and grievances regarding the distribution of royalties, a matter that has generated tension within the community for some time.

Madam Arhin assured participants of the EPA’s commitment to facilitating a peaceful, fair and transparent resolution process that safeguards the interests of the landlords and the broader community. She emphasized the Authority’s role in promoting dialogue and preventing conflicts that could undermine environmental governance.

Traditional leaders and the Assemblyman for the area expressed appreciation to the EPA for its timely intervention, describing the engagement as inclusive and critical to resolving the long-standing issue.

They pledged their support for continued dialogue and cooperation to ensure lasting peace within the community.
