Government Reaffirms Commitment to Deepen Partnership with Zoomlion for Cleanliness, Climate Resilience and Job Creation

The government has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with Zoomlion Ghana Limited to promote environmental cleanliness, climate resilience, innovation and sustainable job creation nationwide.
The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ibrahim Ahmed, made this known on Friday, December 12, at the climax of the Jospong Annual Thanksgiving Service 2025, held at the Group’s head office in Adjirigarnor, Accra.
He described Zoomlion as a strategic partner in national development, noting that its operations directly support government priorities such as local service delivery, environmental health, youth employment and modernised waste management. He said the government was ready to strengthen its partnership with Zoomlion and the wider Jospong Group to make cleanliness, resilience, innovation and job creation everyday realities in Ghana.
According to the Minister, Zoomlion’s growth and impact rank it among Ghana’s most successful corporate entities. He placed its achievements within a broader historical context, describing the company’s expansion across Africa as a third wave of Ghanaian transformation, following the era of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and the country’s period of football dominance.
He further disclosed that Ghana and Morocco were the only countries to impress officials during a sanitation benchmarking mission to South Korea, attributing Ghana’s success to the 36 completed composting, recycling and waste treatment plants established under a public-private partnership. He said the facilities, the largest network of its kind in West Africa contributed significantly to Ghana’s designation as the UN Sanitation and Waste Management Hub for West Africa in 2025.
The Minister also traced Zoomlion’s rise from a small office in Jamestown to a multinational conglomerate operating in over 24 African countries, with 78 subsidiaries across 14 sectors. He said no other Ghanaian company has achieved such a level of continental presence, describing the milestone as historic and a strong reflection of Ghanaian excellence.
