President Mahama inspects ongoing Takoradi Circle Market construction project

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama inspected the ongoing construction of the Takoradi Market Circle in the Western Region. This visit was part of his “Thank You Tour” following his recent inauguration.

The Takoradi Market Circle redevelopment project, initiated in 2020 under the previous administration, has faced delays and is yet to be completed.

Residents and traders in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis have expressed concerns over the stalled progress, urging the new government to prioritize its completion to boost economic activities in the region.

During his visit, President Mahama assessed the current state of the project and engaged with local stakeholders to understand the challenges hindering its completion. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to expediting the construction to ensure that the market becomes operational as soon as possible.

The Takoradi Market Circle, once completed, is expected to revitalize commerce in the area, providing modern facilities for traders and enhancing the overall economic landscape of the Western Region.
