PROTEGO Project Hosts Workshop on Marine Litter Solutions for Ada Foah Fisherfolk

The Prevention of Marine Litter in the Gulf of Guinea (PROTEGO) project, carried out by Ghanaian partners GNCPC and Plastic Punch, hosted a half-day Focus Group Discussion workshop for fisherfolk in the Ada Foah community. The event, aimed at raising awareness, focused on the project’s pilot solutions for addressing marine litter.

The workshop was held on 17th February, 2026 at the Ada East Municipal Assembly Conference Hall in Ada Foah, the workshop engaged local fisherfolk and the broader community. It also featured key stakeholders such as the Ada East Municipal Assembly, the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Fisheries Commission, and the Chief of the Fishermen Association.
The goal of the event was to promote collaboration and understanding of the initiative to reduce marine pollution in the Gulf of Guinea.
