TOR Procures New Fleet of Vehicles to Boost Operational Efficiency

Management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has procured and handed over a new fleet of vehicles aimed at significantly improving the refinery’s operational efficiency and logistics capacity.

The fleet includes eight brand new Mitsubishi vehicles, three Toyota Coaster buses, two industrial forklifts, and other essential operational vehicles to support the refinery’s day-to-day activities. The acquisition comes at a critical time, as TOR has grappled with severe logistical constraints for years. The last major logistical support of this scale was recorded in 2013, a gap that negatively affected productivity and slowed operational progress.

The Board Chairman, Nayon Bilijo, officially commissioned the vehicles and authorised their immediate deployment for official and operational use across the refinery.
As with other recent works at TOR, the vehicles were procured using the company’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF). Management explained that the acquisition was financed from revenue generated internally by the refinery in 2025 under the current administration.

Management also expressed deep appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, for their continuous support, policy direction, and commitment to the revival and strengthening of the Tema Oil Refinery.
