Trading activities halted in parts of Accra as Operation Clean Your Frontage’ kicks off today

Trading activities have been put on hold in parts of Accra as Operation ‘Clean Your Frontage’ begins today with about 30,000 people expected to participate in the exercise.

The campaign which is an initiative of the Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, is seeking to address the sanitation challenge in the capital. Sensitization begun in the central business district, principal markets and convergence places such as the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and Abossey Okai to encourage residents of Accra to get involved in the initiative.

However, the cleanup and decongestion exercise is reported to have affected some traders and drivers at Kwame Nkrumah Circle. The few who expressed worry about losing their source of livelihood pleaded with government for relocation.
