Vice President reaffirms commitment to Gomoa Pomadze poultry project

Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has reiterated the Mahama administration’s resolve to complete the Gomoa Pomadze Poultry Project in the Central Region.

She gave the assurance while addressing participants at the 93rd Jalsa Salana of the National Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission on Thursday, January 8, at Gomoa Pomadze. According to her, the project will comprise purpose-built facilities capable of housing about 100,000 birds, alongside modern feeding systems, a feed mill, and environmentally sustainable waste management structures.

“We’re moving forward with the Pomadze Poultry initiative, which is designed to include purpose-built facilities for about 100,000 birds, modern feeding systems, a feed mill, and environmentally responsible waste management,” she said, stressing the project’s importance to national food security.

The Vice President further noted that the project aligns with broader national policies under the Feed Ghana and “Nkokonkitinkiti” programmes, which seek to expand local poultry production and cut down Ghana’s dependence on poultry imports by 2028.

“This initiative aligns directly with our national objectives under the Feed Ghana and ‘Nkokonkitinkiti’ to strengthen domestic poultry production and, significantly, reduce reliance on imports by 2028,” she added.
