We will deal with encroachers of CSIR land- Henry Quartey

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey in an interview after inspection of lands at the Council for Scientific ad Industrial Research (CSIR) has said a decision will be taken to deal with encroachers of the Council’s lands.

He assured that the government would not relent in demolishing unauthorized buildings on the land.

The Animal Research Institute of CSRIR has over the period complained about the increasing level of encroachment of their lands and attacks on staff by land guards.

Efforts by the Institute to chase out invaders have proven not successful and they have made several calls for government assistance.

Regional Minister, Henry Quartey in an interview after inspecting the boundaries of the Institute has pledged the situation will be addressed in no time.

“I have received complaints by some government officials that government lands are being encroached. An example is what we see at CSIR. It is sad that people have the effrontery to take over government properties”, he said.

“REGSEC will meet soon and I will take a decision in no time. I will ensure that the situation is dealt with in no time”, he hinted.

The Institute has bemoaned its staff are living in fear due to the activities of unscrupulous land guards on its lands.
