Nkwanta North: DCE hands over waste bins to improve hygiene

District Chief Executive (DCE) of Nkwanta North in the Oti Region, Mr Isaiah Kudjo Dordoe, has presented ten waste bins to the District Environmental Health Office (DEHO) for distribution throughout the district, as part of efforts by the Assembly to address prevailing sanitation challenges.
According to the DCE, the donation forms part of the government’s resetting agenda under the District Assemblies Common Fund, aimed at improving sanitation conditions within the area.
He noted that ensuring proper sanitation remains one of the core responsibilities of the Assembly and therefore tasked the sanitation unit to intensify public education on the importance of maintaining a clean environment.
Mr Dordoe further urged residents to make proper use of the bins by disposing of their waste at the designated collection points where the bins have been mounted.
The Nkwanta North District Coordinator, Mr Samuel Gyamena, reaffirmed the Assembly’s dedication to enhancing sanitation standards by keeping the district clean. He emphasised that a clean environment contributes to healthy living and urged citizens to prioritise cleanliness in their daily routines.
For his part, the Presiding Member of the Nkwanta North District Assembly, Mr Alhassan Abubakar, expressed appreciation to the district leadership for the initiative, stating that it would significantly contribute to resolving sanitation-related issues in the area.
