Bogoso–Prestea ex-workers picket ministry over unpaid entitlements

Former employees of the Bogoso–Prestea Mine staged a protest on Wednesday, December 10, at the forecourt of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, pressing for the payment of their unpaid entitlements after the mine’s takeover by Heath Goldfields.

The disgruntled former staff explained that over 400 workers lost their jobs when control of the company shifted from Blue Gold FGR in 2024.

They expressed frustration that, despite the large-scale layoffs, management has still not honoured their due benefits and outstanding arrears.

The protestors are urging the government and the new owners to step in and guarantee the payment of all monies owed them prior to their dismissal. They are demanding the immediate release of their benefits, emphasising that the prolonged delay has deepened their financial challenges.
