Gold Fields Ghana, MIIF Explore Investment Opportunities and Strategic Collaboration

Executives of Gold Fields Ghana have engaged with officials of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) to deliberate on the company’s operations, potential investment opportunities for the Fund, and avenues for strategic collaboration.

The meeting, held on December 18, 2025, underscored the significance of Gold Fields’ investments in Ghana, which account for approximately 31 per cent of the company’s global production.
The Gold Fields Ghana delegation was led by Mr. Elliot Twum, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, alongside Ms. Emma Morrison, Regional Head of Corporate Affairs, and Mr. William Empeh, Head of Human Resources. The MIIF team was led by Mr. Kwabena Barning, Chief Technical Officer, supported by other members of senior management.

During the engagement, Mr. Twum highlighted the key pillars underpinning Gold Fields’ strong operational performance, noting that these foundations would continue to drive the company’s contributions in the years ahead.

He identified the company’s success factors as an experienced technical and management team, strong corporate governance structures, a robust Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, Ghana’s considerable mineral resource potential, and Gold Fields’ operations within a tier-one mining jurisdiction.
According to him, these elements collectively demonstrate the company’s firm commitment to sustaining its operations and advancing asset development in Ghana.
